The Big Roof is representative of Sheikh Zayed, covering andprotecting the seven emirates. The main construction material islocal sand. A large circular “pond” sits in front of the museum. It isdivided through the centre by a bridge, which provides a connection with the entrance. The crossing will be made of tempered glass,making the water visible below the visitor’s feet as they cross. As the water vaporizes, The “pond” also works as a natural cooling device.

地元の砂を建材料とした、シェイク・ザイードを表す象徴的な大きな屋根が、UAEの７つの首長国を象徴する７つのパビリオンを覆う。大きな円形の池が博物館の前にあり、その真ん中をエントランスと博物館とをつなぐ透明のブリッジが走る。橋を強化ガラスで作ることによって、歩行者に池の水が見えるようにした。また、この池は冷却装置としても機能する。
