The concept for this theatre design is based on one of the operational themes for the Japanese Industry Pavilion, “pulse”, and will be used primarily for video installations. Two 70-seat auditoriums are juxtaposed symmetrically like the left and right atrium of the heart, to steadily control the flow and movement of the visitors like a pulse. The ceiling, walls and chairs of the auditorium are made up of varying diameter paper tubes, and the undulating paper tubes provide necessary sound absorption and reflection for the theatre.

この劇場は、日本産業館のテーマのひとつ“パルス”を劇場運営のコンセプトとして、映像展示をする施設である。“パルス”、つまり観客の動きを“脈動”するように流すため、心臓の左右心房のように、左右対称に2つの70人用ホールを並置させた。 どちらかのホールに案内された観客は、まず3分間のプレショーの映像を目の前のスクリーン（高さ10Mｘ幅6M）で見る。そしてプレショー終了と同時にスクリーンはスライドして消え、その奥の高さ18メートル、幅10メートルの巨大なスクリーンに6分間のメイン映像が映し出される。映像終了後、3分間で退場と次の観客の入場が行われる。この12分サイクルを繰り返し、もう1つのホールで同じサイクルが6分遅れて繰り返される。 ホール内の天井、壁、イスは全て径の違う紙管が使われている。曲面状にうねった紙管は適度に吸音と音を乱反射させる効果を持っている。
